We design and manufacture electrowinning pilot plants for a wide variety of applications including laboratory and bench scale test programs for electrowinning copper, cobalt, nickel, chromium, zinc and other metals. Our electrowinning cells can be operated with various numbers of anodes and cathodes and the level of catholyte in the cell can be adjusted to any level giving complete flexibility in the overall plating area on the cathodes. The electrowinning cell is connected to a rectifier with variable DC voltage and amperage output with automatic constant current or constant voltage regulation regardless of resistance changes between the anode to cathode and solution concentration.

Our cathodes can be manufactured from various metals including 316L stainless steel and titanium. We can supply various anode materials to include lead-calcium-tin (Pb-Ca-Sn) alloys and precious metal oxide coated titanium plate and mesh anodes such as DSA®  (dimensionally stable anode). We can also supply porous anode diaphragm bags in order to keep the anolyte separated from the catholyte.

Site Location:  Moscow, Russia
Plant Capacity: 25 g Copper per hour

SX Kinetics designed and manufactured this electrowinning  pilot plant for a copper solvent extraction project in Russia. This EW pilot plant was coupled to the SX pilot plant as shown at: Laboratory SX Plant 4

Site Location:  Toquepala, Peru
Plant Capacity: 208 g Copper per hour

SX Kinetics designed and manufactured this electrowinning  pilot plant for electrowinning investigations at the Toquepala copper leach - solvent extraction- electrowinning plant in Peru. The pilot plant included the following:

  • Electrowinning cell with 10 cathodes and 11 anodes

  • Rectifier with 0 to 300 amperes and 0 to 5 VDC out

  • Electrolyte tanks with teflon coated immersion heater

  • Variable speed circulation pump

Carbon adsorption and electrowinning of gold. Client: Private Individual
Site Location: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Plant Capacity: 20 kg gold per month

This electrowinning pilot plant was designed and manufactured by SX Kinetics for production of gold from a placer deposit in Tanzania. The process consisted of vat leaching with NaCN followed by carbon adsorption and electrowinning onto steel wool cathodes.

This electrowinning pilot plant was designed and manufactured by SX Kinetics for a project in northern Mexico. The process consisted of heap leaching with NaCN followed by direct electrowinning onto steel wool cathodes.
