The plant included metering pumps and 15 immersion heaters.

The laboratory plant featured flanged mixer-settlers with flanged covers in order to provide an air tight seal for use with solvents having a low flash point.

The settlers and organic vessel featured glass jackets for circulation of hot water for operation at elevated temperatures. The pilot plant was used to evaluate the extraction of impurities from phosphoric acid.
