We design and manufacture solvent extraction pilot plants for a wide variety of applications. The following summarizes our portable and modular solvent extraction pilot plants that we recently manufactured for various clients:

Client:  Versitile Industries / Battelle
Site Location: Columbus, OH, USA
Plant Capacity: 32 L/min (org + aq)

SX Kinetics designed, manufactured, and assembled this plant inside a 40’ shipping container. This mobile SX plant was operated at various chrome electro-plating sites to demonstrate a new solvent extraction process for the recovery of chromium from spent plating bath solutions. SX Kinetics provided on site technical consulting during plant start-up.

SX Kinetics designed and manufactured this modular solvent extraction plant for the removal of chromium from electro plating wastewater within five modular shipping frames. This plant produced a pure solution of chromium that was used as a component in the manufacture of stainless steel. It also eliminated the traditional wastewater treatment method that produced toxic chromium sludge. SX Kinetics provided technical consulting for plant start up and initial operation

Client:  Moscow State Institute of Steel and Alloys (Technological University)

Plant Capacity: 100 L/min (org + aq)

SX Kinetics designed and manufactured this modular copper solvent extraction pilot plant within ten modular shipping frames. Each modular shipping frame had outside dimensions slightly smaller than the opening of a standard shipping container. The complete plant was transported to Russia inside three 40' containers and re-assembled at the client's site. This plant produced a rich electrolyte for copper electrowinning from a vat leach solution containing 5.6 g/L copper.

SX Kinetics, Inc. designed and manufactured this solvent extraction plant for the demonstration of a new process to produce high purity zirconium.

SX Kinetics, Inc. designed and manufactured this solvent extraction and electrowinning pilot plant for the solvent extraction and electrowinning of copper, cobalt, and nickel.

Client:  Rio Tinto & SNC Lavalin
Site Location:  Northern Peru
Plant Capacity: 40 L/min (O+A)

This pilot plant was manufactured by SX Kinetics for a project in Peru. It has six separate extraction circuits and one strip circuit. The pilot plant was used to evaluate six different heap leaches simultaneously.

Site Location:  Kounrad, Kazakhstan
Plant Capacity: 200 L/min (org + Aq)

SX Kinetics designed and manufacture a complete "turn-key" solvent extraction and electrowinning pilot plant for a copper dump leaching project in Kounrad (near Balqash) Kazakhstan.  The plant produced 240 kg per day of copper cathodes from 100 L per minute of leach solution (PLS).
